History of Music
Music history, often known as historical musicology, is a wide branch of musicology that focuses on the study of music from a historical perspective. In theory, "music history" might relate to the study of any form or genre of music's history.
The Start of Music
A literal view of music's past begins around 40,000 years ago, with Europe on the verge of a major transformation. The Neanderthals lived in the area at the time, having acquired it from earlier human species dating back a million years. But suddenly a new human species - our own - was sweeping across Europe.
